Mindful Roots Therapy PLLC
Where Personal and Relationship Growth Take Root
About me

Hi, I’m Sara Gillett, and I’m passionate about helping individuals and couples grow, heal, and reconnect—with themselves and with each other. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling from CU Denver with a focus on Couples and Family Therapy, and hold a Marriage and Family Therapist Candidate (MFTC) license in the state of Colorado.
I also bring five years of experience as a Certified Addiction Specialist, where I’ve worked with individuals navigating recovery, rebuilding their lives, and reclaiming their sense of purpose and resilience.
My approach to therapy is grounded in warmth, collaboration, and deep respect for your unique experiences. I work from a person-centered foundation, which means I believe you are the expert on your own life—and my role is to support and guide you with empathy, curiosity, and non-judgment. I draw from evidence-based approaches that help people better understand their emotions, build healthier relationships, and take meaningful steps toward change. These include tools from Emotionally Focused Therapy (which helps strengthen emotional bonds), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (which supports you in living more fully in line with your values), and elements of Narrative and Solution-Focused Therapy to help you explore your story and identify practical ways to move forward.
Therapy can be a vulnerable journey—but you don’t have to do it alone. I’m here to walk beside you with warmth, curiosity, and care as we work toward meaningful, lasting change.
Services and Fees
If you’re considering therapy and want to see if we’re a good fit, I offer a free 20-minute consultation for any of the services listed below. This is a chance for you to ask questions, share what you’re looking for, and get a feel for how I work—no pressure, no commitment. Your comfort and clarity matter, and I’m here to help you take that first step.
I offer therapy for individuals and couples at a rate of $115 per session. At this time, I do not accept health insurance, but I strive to keep my fees as affordable as possible to make therapy more accessible.
Individual Therapy
In individual therapy, I strive to create a safe and supportive space where you can explore your inner world, process pain, and discover new paths forward. Whether you’re working through addiction, anxiety, depression, trauma, or life transitions, we will work together to build greater clarity, self-understanding, and personal growth.
Telehealth
Telehealth offers a convenient and flexible way to access therapy from the comfort of your own space. Whether you’re juggling a busy schedule, navigating transportation barriers, or simply prefer the privacy of meeting from home, online sessions can provide the same depth, connection, and support as in-person therapy. I use a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform to ensure your confidentiality, and I strive to create a warm, grounded presence—even through the screen—so you can feel safe, seen, and supported throughout our work together.
Couple’s Therapy
In couples therapy, I focus on helping partners understand their patterns in conflict, communicate more effectively, and deepen their emotional bond. Whether you’re feeling disconnected, stuck in conflict, or simply want to grow closer, I aim to support you in creating a relationship rooted in empathy, trust, and connection.
